20yo wins $356 million jackpot


A 20-YEAR-OLD man has won part of a $US451 million ($A569 million) US Mega Millions jackpot — and he has a unique plan on how he wants to spend it.

Florida Lottery has revealed that Shane Missler, of Port Richey, had claimed the jackpot from the multistate game’s January 5 drawing.

They say he chose to receive his winnings in a one-time, lump-sum payment of $US281,874,999 ($A356,219,529).

The winning numbers to claim the nation’s 10th-largest jackpot were 28-30-39-59-70 with a Mega Ball of 10.

The winning ticket was bought at a 7-Eleven in Port Richey. The retailer will receive a $US100,000 ($A126,375) bonus.

Mr Missler said that he wants to spend it on helping his family out, being financially successful and contributing to “humanity”.

“I’m only 20, but I hope to use it to pursue a variety of passions, help my family and do some good for humanity,” he said.

On his Facebook page, he posted two messages that read: “As if” and “Oh. My. God.”
