Boil over: CA ready to enter arbritraion

Cricket Australia CEO James Sutherland is ready to take the pay war to independent abitration.

CRICKET Australia has slapped the players association for a strategy of stalling tactics that has put the home summer and potentially the Ashes back in jeopardy.

Declaring the Australian Cricketers Association was not interested in working towards a resolution in the pay war at the same “pace” as CA, chief executive James Sutherland said he would send the fight to arbitration for a final decision as soon as next week if there was no agreement.

Sutherland, who heeded calls from the ACA to get more heavily involved in talks more than a month ago said recent negotiations had worried him to the point he felt the union was deliberately putting the August tour of Bangladesh in doubt.
