Driver killed in Wheatbelt crash


A MAN has died in a crash in WA’s Wheatbelt on Thursday morning.

Police say the man’s vehicle left Crossland Street in Muntadgin, a town between Bruce Rock and Southern Cross, and slammed into a tree about 7am.

The man, who was aged in his 20s, is believed to have died at the scene.

He is now the 83rd person to die on WA roads this year.

Two men have also been seriously injured in separate crashes in regional WA.

A man, believed to be aged in his 50s, was flown to Royal Perth Hospital after his vehicle rolled on the Bussell Highway, roughly 6km north of the Busselton townsite.

The crash happened at the Tuart Drive intersection in Reinscourt shortly after 4pm.

The man was cut free from his vehicle and stabilised by paramedics before he taken by the rescue helicopter to head to Royal Perth Hospital.

A truck driver aged in his 60s is also in RPH after his truck rolled in Highbury, about 220km south-east of Perth.
