POWDERFINGER drummer Jon Coghill has dismissed not being called up to join the band’s first gig in nine years at the Splendour In The Grass festival as a “misunderstanding”.

Coghill, who is a presenter for the ABC on the Sunshine Coast, was as surprised as tens of thousands of festivalgoers when three of his bandmates joined former frontman Bernard Fanning at the end of his set on Saturday night.
