THE fans have not only spoken, they’ve chosen: we want afternoon footy.

And organisers of the Barbarians clash against the Wallabies in October will duly give it to them, with tickets to go on sale on Monday with a 3pm kick-off time.

In an unprecedented initiative, people were invited in an online survey to help shape the Baa-Baas-Wallabies game on October 29 at Allianz Stadium as a “Fan’s Choice” event.

The most critical element in the public’s hands was the time the game actually started, with the options of 3pm, 5pm and 7.30pm.

In a survey that attracted almost 10,000 votes, the final result was emphatic: 50 per cent of the votes picked 3pm, with 27 per cent for 5pm and just 23 per cent for 7.30pm.
