Hancock ups ante in Nutri-Grain ironwoman bid


Courtney Hancock hoping to return to the winners’ circle soon.

SHE was once the fastest woman in the surf but multiple ironwoman champion Courtney Hancock admits she needs to speed up her comeback from a season to forget to make the cut for this year’s Nutri-Grain ironman series.

Hancock heads to the Summer of Surf round at North Wollongong this weekend in a last-ditch bid to qualify for the three-day Nutri-Grain series at Cronulla beach in February.

AUSSIE SURF MISSION

“I’ve had a slow start and I have to start winning to qualify,” said Hancock, who currently sits three places outside qualifying for the series she dominated in 2013/2014 with just rounds of the lead-up series remaining.
