A PEDESTRIAN has miraculously escaped serious injury after a car veered off the road and slammed into him before crashing into a shop in South Australia.

The Andrews Farm man, 38, was crossing Elizabeth Way in Elizabeth just after 10.30am on Wednesday when the burgundy hatchback drifted off the road and on to the footpath.

It crashed into man and threw him across the front yard of the car parts store.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where he is in a stable condition.
