Marquez splashes to eighth German GP pole


Marc Marquez takes pole position for German MotoGP.

MARC Marquez stormed to an incredible eighth successive German Grand Prix pole as he looks to give his title defence a boost.

The reigning world champion, who has also won his last seven races across all three classes at the Sachsenring circuit, snatched the fastest time from Danilo Petrucci with just two minutes remaining of qualifying.

Marquez’s Honda team-mate Dani Pedrosa completing the front row after both phases of qualifying were hit by changeable weather.
