Leeann Lapham’s alleged killer will appear in court on Thursday.

LEEANN Lapham had only just become a mum.

Three weeks after giving birth to son Bradley, Ms Lapham walked out of Innisfail’s Riverside Motel, leaving the baby behind.

She was never seen again after that day in April 2010. Her disappearance marked the beginning of years of heartache for her family and a major homicide inquiry for Cairns police.

They always believed the 30-year-old met with foul play — and late on Wednesday detectives charged an Innisfail man with her murder and interfering with a corpse.

The arrested man was Graeme Evans, the 42-year-old partner of Ms Lapham, reported The Cairns Post.

Her body has not been found. It’s alleged Mr Evans was staying with Ms Lapham at the time of disappearance.
