Public servant claims $3.3m Lotto haul


IMAGINE sitting at your desk all morning with no idea that you’d just become Australia’s newest multi-millionaire.

That’s what happened to a mystery winner of last night’s Oz Lotto, who was in the middle of what had seemed to be an ordinary Wednesday when her world was transformed.

The Canberra public servant was one of three division one winners to nab $3.3 million each on Tuesday, April 18.

She confessed that she’d had no clue about her win until she ducked out of the office for a bite to eat.

“I came in to grab some lunch, check my ticket and get another ticket. So it’s been a pretty rewarding lunch break — I think I need to pinch myself,” the woman said, adding that she planned to use the windfall to retire early and help her family.

“I’ve got family members I want to help and I look forward to breaking the news to them — not that they’re going to get all of it!”
