Snake evades capture in expert hiding spot

A snake’s expert hiding skills almost got the best of a snake catcher after he was called to a Queensland home to retrieve the reptile from the bathroom.

A Sunshine Coast Woman got a nasty shock after finding a carpet python in her bathroom on Saturday night.

She decided to lock the uninvited guest in the bathroom overnight with a towel blocking the door to stop it escaping but when snake catcher, Stuart McKenzie, arrived the following morning the snake was no where to be found.

“When I first walked in here I couldn’t find anything. It’s a pretty open, clear bathroom,” Mr McKenzie said in a video posted to ‘The Snake Catcher 24/7 Sunshine Coast’ Facebook page.

“There was no way he would have got out.”

But the sneaky serpent was eventually found after Mr McKenzie noticed one of the bathroom drawers was slightly open.
