Tanking claims: ‘absolutely laughable’

NORTH Melbourne coach Brad Scott has dismissed as “absolutely laughable” allegations the club would consider tanking in order to secure this year’s No. 1 draft pick.

A bemused Scott said he had heard the suggestions, but said the club’s recent history and his desire to build a winning culture showed the talk had no basis in fact.

The Kangaroos sit 17th on the AFL ladder and haven’t won since Round 10, but Scott insisted he wanted to get the most out of the next five weeks, starting against Melbourne in Hobart on Saturday.
