Resources Minister Matt Canavan has just joined a select list of people who got into difficulties because of their mothers.

Here are some other famous cases of high-fliers who landed in trouble, allegedly because of maternal meddling.


When Warney copped a 12-month ban from cricket on the eve of the 2003 Cricket World Cup, it was all the fault of his mother Bridgette, apparently.

The Australian cricket great admitted to taking the banned diuretic tablet that earned him a year out but some wine promotions he had been doing and his mother were supposedly to blame.
