What next for NAPLAN testing

QUEENSLAND schools will be “readiness tested” from next month to see if they have the right computers and fast enough internet to complete NAPLAN online next year.

The national authority overseeing NAPLAN testing is pushing ahead with plans for kids to sit online tests next year even after Queensland and other states ditched the move at the last minute this year following technology and quality concerns.

The Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority yesterday announced it would run mock online NAPLAN readiness at schools in August and September.

The list of requirements for schools to be able to use NAPLAN online includes specifics on computer types, wireless connections, security and minimum broadband speeds.
