Australia’s top health official says New Zealand’s decision to lift coronavirus restrictions after seemingly squashing the disease was dangerous.

Acting Chief Medical Officer Paul Kelly said on Friday that New Zealand returned to pre-pandemic life after eradicating the virus.

Nine new cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in NSW, including two connected to an outbreak at Smithfield RSL that currently has no known source.Dr Jeremy McAnulty said on Saturday that one of the nine cases is a staff member at Chopstix Asian Cuisine in the Smithfield RSL, the source of which is currently unknown.
