Regional Investigations Unit detectives have arrested five people and charged them with 118 offences as part of their operation targeting high-harm offenders responsible for multiple cross-district offences including aggravated robbery, burglary, stealing, vehicle theft and driving offences.

It is alleged the teenagers, three boys and two girls were involved in 19 burglary type incidents between 8 and 9 July 2020 across the suburbs of Aubin Grove, Bayswater, Ellenbrook, Hamilton Hill, High Wycombe, Innaloo, Kalamunda, Midland, Mullaloo, Rivervale, West Swan and Yokine.

On the evening of Wednesday 8 July 2020, it is alleged the group stole a Silver Subaru wagon from Bayswater and a white Kia sedan from Mullaloo and used the Subaru in criminal activity.

It is further alleged around 6.30am on Thursday 9 July 2020, two of the group approached a woman in her 20s who was unlocking a business on Rowe Avenue in Rivervale when they grabbed her bag and violently ripped it from her, causing her to fall to the ground.

It is alleged the two offenders got into a silver Subaru wagon and attempted to drive away when the victim jumped onto the bonnet holding onto a windscreen wiper in an attempt to stop them fleeing.

The Subaru travelled a short distance before the woman was thrown from the vehicle. The woman was conveyed by ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment of cuts and abrasions.

About 8am on Thursday 9 July 2020, police sighted the stolen Subaru in Maddington and as the vehicle continued on it collided a few minutes later with a civilian vehicle on Albany Highway in Gosnells. No-one was injured in the crash. The three occupants of the vehicle fled and were apprehended a short time later. Two other offenders were located in Cannington later that morning.

• A 16-year-old boy from Rockingham, a 13-year-old boy from Kelmscott and a 15-year-old boy from Media are due to appear in the Perth Children’s Court today, 10 July 2020 on 114 charges.
• Two girls aged 16 and 15 from Morley are due to appear in the Perth Children’s Court on 20 July 2020 on four charges.

The Warriors are aiming for their  first back-to-back wins since last May and look more upbeat since their somber start to Todd Payten’s tenure in their loss against the Storm.
Rookie coach Payten had his maiden win over the Broncos last week in a morale-lifting victory and will have extra fire-power with captain Roger Tuivasa-Sheck returning from a one-game suspension to fullback with Peta Hiku shifting to centre.
Tuivasa-Sheck has always had stand-out performances against the Titans and has scored a try for the Warriors five out of the past six games against the Queensland club.
If the Warriors can beat the Titans it will be their fourth win in seven matches since the comp restarted in late May and will no doubt keep them in touch with the top eight, even though their for/against is a bit rough.
The Titans shot themselves in the foot against the Sharks last week and could have walked away with the two points.
They have an abysmal record at Cbus Super Stadium, their home ground, losing their past 10 matches at the venue.
The Kiwis confirmed they’ll wear their “Bush Shirt” jersey for Friday night’s clash. The jerseys have caused a stir with fans in the past and the club acknowledged its left field choice in a statement.
“When the ‘bush shirt’ surfaced November last year it’s mere existence rocked the very foundations of society,” the club said.
“Stunned by the sheer greatness of the jersey fans soon took to Twitter to share of its beauty, likening the jersey to the amazing picnic blanket, the great Humphrey B. Bear and even the trustworthy tea towel.
“With everything that has happened in 2020 the Bush Shirt has been resurrected to bring some joy to the world.”
