Bushfires commission critical of telcos – Australian Associated Press

Telecommunications companies have not done enough to ensure communities can rely on phones for information in an emergency, the bushfires royal commission has suggested.

Commission chair Mark Binskin has taken the major telcos to task for not working together more closely to address the loss of communications during bushfires.

Police are seeking the assistance of the public to help locate missing Seaton man, Vittorio Cecere.

Vittorio Cecere, 80, was last seen at Seaton home at 3.30pm on today (7/8). He is driving a white Toyota Camry SA registration S191AOX.

Police and his family are concerned for his welfare

Mr Cecere is 155cm tall, with a thin build and grey hair. He was last seen wearing a brown jacket, dark grey checked pants, Navy cardigan and black dress shoes.

Anyone who spots Vittorio Cecere or has information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the police assistance line immediately on 131 444.
