A second man has been charged over an alleged home invasion in Sydney’s east last month.

Just after 7.30pm on Tuesday 21 July 2020, officers from Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command were called to a home on Rawson Avenue, Queens Park, after reports a man had been assaulted.

A 43-year-old man was at home with his two children when two men – one who is known to him – allegedly knocked on the front door and forced entry into the home.

The man was allegedly assaulted and threatened with a firearm, while the men demanded money. They fled the scene a short time later after police were called by another resident. The man did not require hospitalisation.

Officers established a crime scene and commenced an investigation. During a search of the area, they seized a replica firearm and a motor vehicle.

Following inquiries, on Thursday 23 July 2020, a 29-year-old man was charged at Waverley Police Station with specially aggravated enter dwelling with intent – dangerous weapon.

About 9.45am today (Friday 7 August 2020), a 41-year-old was also arrested at Waverley Police Station and charged with specially aggravated enter dwelling with intent – dangerous weapon.

He was refused bail and appeared at Waverley Local Court today. Both men have now been formally refused bail to appear at the same court on Friday 18 September 2020.
