NSW COVID-19 cases increase by five as restrictions on crowds ease

New South Wales will increase stadium capacity to 50 per cent as the state recorded just five new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, from more than 20,000 tests processed.

Of the new cases, two are returned travellers in hotel quarantine, two were locally acquired and linked to a known source, and one remains under investigation, Premier Gladys Berejiklian said.

The new cases prompted authorities to advise anyone who attended a Thai restaurant in Sydney’s southwest to remain alert for symptoms after a diner tested positive for COVID-19.

Anyone who attended the Five Stars Thaitanic, Casula, on Saturday, September 12 from 4.20pm-5.20pm is considered a casual contact and must monitor for symptoms and get tested immediately if they develop.
