On Tuesday, Ms Palaszczuk gave her condolences to Ms Tilberoo’s family and urged calm, adding she had sought an update from the state’s most senior police member.
“I do ask Queenslanders for calm during this,” she said. “I’ve just had a briefing from the Commissioner of Police because I wanted to be fully aware of the processes that now take place.”
Ms Palaszczuk reiterated there would be both a coronial investigation and a “full investigation”, carried out by police ethical standards command, with Crime and Corruption Commission oversight.
“The Commissioner has assured me that she is taking swift action in relation to this matter and both of those will run in tandem together,” she said.
