A federal ICAC with teeth, real-time donations reform and fixed election dates for Federal Parliament would again make Australia a world leader in electoral processes. Freedom House gives Australia a rating of 97/100 on its Global Freedom Index (right up there with Canada and Norway). The US is rated 86.
