West Coast duo Tim Kelly, Dom Sheed top Brownlow Medal votes, ahead of Fremantle’s Nat Fyfe

If Brownlow Medal votes are anything to go by, Eagles Tim Kelly and Dom Sheed had the best season of any West Australian player.

The duo finished tied in the Medal count with 11 votes, one clear of Fremantle skipper and two-time Brownlow Medallist Nat Fyfe.

The trio were at least 20 votes behind winner Lachie Neale who finished the night with 31 votes.

Surprisingly, one of the favourites for tomorrow night’s John Worsfold Medal Nic Naitanui finished with just five Brownlow votes — one vote from the round five win over Sydney, two votes in the round nine win over Geelong and two votes in the win over St Kilda in round 17.

Eagle Andrew Gaff and Elliot Yeo finished on eight votes, despite Yeo missing the back end of the season.
