Shark attack at Cable Beach in Broome

UPDATE: A man has been killed by a shark at Broome’s popular Cable Beach.

WA Police and St John Ambulance were called to the tourist hotspot after the attack was reported at about 8.37am.

The 55-year-old man was pulled from the water with serious injuries and treated by police prior to arrival of paramedics but was pronounced dead at the scene.

Cable Beach has been closed by local rangers.
