Shark attack kills swimmer at Broome’s Cable Beach

Broome’s Cable Beach is closed to the public after a swimmer was fatally attacked by a shark on Sunday morning.

Police said the person had been swimming north of the Cable Beach rocks about 8.50am when the attack happened.

It is understood the person lost their hand and was bitten on their upper thigh.

Police could not give any information about the person at this stage.
