Swimmer attacked by shark at Cable Beach in Broome, WA


Western Australian authorities are investigating a possible shark attack at Cable Beach in the Broome.

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) says it received a report of a shark bite incident at 8:42am (Perth time).

The DPIRD is encouraging people to take additional caution in the Cable Beach area and adhere to beach closures advised by Local Government Rangers, Parks and Wildlife Service officers or Surf Life Saving WA.
