Seaford train station stabbing victim identified as 26-year-old Cam Smith

A young Melbourne man has allegedly been stabbed to death by a group of random people after getting pizza with a friend.

Cam Smith, 26, was found by police near Seaford train station just before 7pm on Wednesday.

Paramedics worked frantically to try and revive him but he died at the scene.

7NEWS understands Smith’s friend was called names by a number of women in a group.

Shortly after, three men allegedly began to attack him.

Police are still trying to piece together exactly what lead to Smith’s death, but Chief Commissioner Shane Patton says the alleged offenders will be found.
