Strong turnout for NAIDOC march today | Katherine Times

There were lots of participants in Katherine’s NAIDOC march today. Hundreds attended the march to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and to push for greater recognition. NAIDOC celebrations have been ongoing this week after the opening ceremony last Sunday. The theme for NAIDOC in 2020 is Always Was, Always Will Be. Kalano Community Association deputy chief executive officer Alan Mole said the theme recognises First Nations people and their ongoing connection to country. “Always Was, Always Will Be, it’s Indigenous country, we’re the first people and it’s important that we’re recognised.” Kalano Community Association has held a carnival event to bring families and service…
