Coronavirus crisis: Masks now mandatory at domestic airports, with fines up to $50K for those who do…


Failing to wear a face mask at a WA airport now attracts a fine of up to $50,000 after new directions enforcing a decision of National Cabinet came into effect.

In response to the fast-spreading UK coronavirus variant, State and Territory leaders last week agreed to make mask wearing mandatory when flying and at all domestic airports across the country.

The new blanket rule applies to anyone over the age of 12-years-old, although there are some specific exceptions.
