Philippe fireworks sees Sixers win Sydney Smash | Sydney Sixers


Sixers rising super star Josh Philippe passed fifty for the second time in BBL|10 to steer the Sixers to victory in the season’s first Sydney Smash at Manuka Oval, Canberra.

Player of the Match Steve O’Keefe also returned his best BBL figures with 3-15 from four overs in the five-wicket win.

Chasing 129 to win from 14 overs under the Duckworth Lewis Stern method, due to a rain delay, Philippe smashed seven fours and two sixes including 23 from the second over.

Sixers earning the victory with eight balls to spare and finishing 5/132. Thunder made 6/166 from their 20 overs adjusted for the rain. 

Philippe’s innings took him to the top of the BBL|10 run-scorers’ list with 337. The Sixers…
