GWS Giants player Brid Stack has been rushed to hospital after a spinal injury scare in a pre-season clash with the Adelaide Crows on Sunday.
The 34-year-old was hurt during a heavy collision in a tackle late in the fourth quarter, with the game cut short.
Stack received medical care on the ground before an ambulance arrived at Norwood Oval to take her to a nearby hospital.
“She’s in the best possible care,” the Giants said.
“We will provide a full update when we have further information.”
The Irish import is trying her hand at the AFLW for the first time after a long and successful career in Gaelic football.
