Sydneysiders are likely to experience a slight reprieve on Saturday from the heatwave conditions that kicked off late this week, before temperatures climb again towards Australia Day.
Weather bureau meteorologist Alex Majchrowski said much of NSW would be sweltering under severe to extreme heat into next week and areas to Sydney’s north west and west such as Richmond and Penrith possibly reaching temperatures in the low 40s.
