South Yarra incident suspends Sandringham line after person hit by train


Melbourne’s morning commute has been thrown into chaos with one train line suspended and three others facing delays of up to 30 minutes.

The delays have been caused by a person being hit by a train near South Yarra station.

The Sandringham train line between Ripponlea and Prahran stations has been suspended while emergency services respond to the incident.

Buses have been ordered to replace trains from Elsternwick station to ferry passengers to Caulfield station.

Metro Trains said the replacement buses would take about 60 minutes to arrive at Elsternwick and would connect with the Pakenham, Cranbourne and Frankston line trains at Caulfield.
