Man accused of making false cancer claim to swindle family out of more than $1 million

An alleged fraudster has been accused of fooling his family into thinking he had cancer before swindling them out of more than $1 million.

Victoria Police allege the 30-year-old man spent the profits from the sale of his family home in Alfredton, Ballarat, without telling his partner.
