Queen Camilla ’s poignant tribute to Scotland and the late Queen at the Holyrood garden party

The Queen’s poignant choice of brooch, the Diamond Thistle, paid homage both to Scottish culture and her own royal heritage. The thistle has been naturalised as the national emblem of Scotland since author Sir Walter Scott chose it as a sigil for the visit of King George IV to the country in 1882.
