1612 new cases of COVID-19, eight deaths

Victoria has recorded 1612 new local COVID-19 cases ahead of the state’s new vaccinated economy to be trialled in six regional areas from today.

Another eight people died from the virus overnight.

There were 73,138 test results conducted in the past 24 hours and 34,279 vaccine doses administered.
