Livestreaming local council debates will get ‘more people involved in grassroots politics’

Sky News host Jenna Clarke says she loves the fact people want to livestream their local council debates because it will “get a lot more people involved in grassroots politics”.  

The Gold Coast Bulletin is reporting community leaders are calling for the livestreams of public debates which were available for ratepayers during COVID shutdowns to be turned back on. 

“I think local councils sometimes maybe like the fact that people are just too busy or they don’t know,” Ms Clarke said.  

“They kind of like to sit in the darkness. Shine a light I say.”
