Millions have turned out across New South Wales for council elections, sending lines around the block and crashing the online voting system.  

Authorities warn residents of New South Wales if you haven't voted by now, a fine will be sent in the mail. 

After the local government election was delayed twice due to COVID, 126 council area residents took to the polls to cast their ballots, with 35 given the opportunity to elect a mayor. 

More than one million voters across the state cast their votes by post or online.
