NSW and Victoria record 40 further COVID-19 deaths

More lives have been lost to COVID-19 as New South Wales recorded 25 new deaths and Victoria 15.

NSW reported 30,825 new infections, and there are currently 2,781 patients in hospitals across the state, down from 2,863 on Wednesday.

Of those patients, 212 are in ICU, down from 217.
