Police have released new security vision of a person accidentally setting themself on fire in a clumsy arson attack in the Australian Capital Territory.

Police say around 11:40pm on July 6, two people arrived at the Gold Blade barber shop on Hibberson Street in Gungahlin.

The vision shows one person smashing a window with a hammer before pouring a flammable liquid throughout the business.

“This person then ignites the accelerant, setting themselves alight in the process, before being extinguished with the assistance of the other person,” police said.

The Hibberson Street barber shop was targeted in an arson attack in July.

The person runs from the business and rolls around on the concrete outside to extinguish the flames.

After the attack, the two people left the barber shop on bikes, heading in the direction of Hinder Street.

Police would like to speak to anyone who can identify the offenders from the CCTV footage or who may have information about the incident.
