The husband of notorious fraudster Melissa Caddick has been charged with assault following an incident in Sydney’s affluent eastern suburbs.
Anthony Koletti, 43, is accused of assaulting a 73-year-old woman in Vaucluse. New South Wales Police launched an appeal for public assistance earlier this week, releasing CCTV images of a man they were seeking in connection with the alleged attack.
2GB revealed that an anonymous member of the public recognised the man as Koletti, prompting police to lay charges.
Koletti has been charged with common assault and granted conditional bail. He is scheduled to face court in September.
The former DJ gained national attention following the disappearance of his wife, Melissa Caddick, in November 2020. Caddick vanished after the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) raided her Dover Heights home as part of a major financial investigation. It was later revealed she had defrauded investors out of more than $20 million.
Her partial remains, specifically, a decomposed foot, were discovered on a beach on the NSW South Coast in February 2021.
