The NRL has put Brisbane on standby to fly to Melbourne immediately with Queensland’s capital city to go into lockdown from Monday evening.
The Broncos’ Good Friday clash with the Storm remains the biggest concern for the NRL, with all arrivals into Victoria from Brisbane needing to pass a COVID-19 test.
Brisbane had originally made moves to fly to Melbourne on a chartered flight on Tuesday afternoon, in a bid to be tested and be able to prepare as usual.
But they have since been told to be ready to fly at any time to avoid any further issues after four more cases of community transmission were confirmed in Brisbane on Monday.
