Mining giant Rio Tinto donates $2m to Cyclone Seroja victims through Lord Mayor’s Distress Relief Fund

Mining giant Rio Tinto has donated $2 million to the Lord Mayor’s Distress Relief Fund to support those impacted by the devastating cyclone, which damaged over 800 homes.

Iron Ore CEO Simon Trott called the Lord Mayor of Perth Basil Zempilas, and advised him of their donation to the fund this afternoon.

The fund was activated to support those who lost their homes in the aftermath of the tropical cyclone.

Nearly $4 million has been raised by the appeal so far.
