Morrison government brings forward childcare subsidy changes to March 2022

Families are set to benefit from cheaper childcare earlier than promised as the Morrison government brings forward subsidy changes. 

The changes to the Child Care Subsidy were due to kick in next July but will now begin in March. 

The government has claimed the around 25,000 families will save an average of over $760 this financial year. 

Education Minister Alan Tudge sidestepped suggestions the changed timeframe was due to the looming federal election. 

Labor has labelled the changes a dud and promised to provide generous support to families earning up to $530,000.
