NSW ready to take ‘first step on the roadmap to reopening’

New South Wales will take its “first step on the roadmap to reopening” on Monday, says Jobs Minister Stuart Ayres. 

“This is a first step, it’s not mission complete,” he said. 

“We still have a long way to go. The personal responsibility that every single one of us has as we walk on this journey is so critically important to making sure that we protect the lives and livelihoods of people across NSW.”  

Mr Ayres said the state’s world record rates of vaccination had made the reopening possible. 

“But we still have to step through the 80 per cent, the 90 per cent, get towards the end of the year, so you have to continue to keep getting vaccinated,” he said.
