NSW Treasurer and Environment Minister Matt Kean has called on Scott Morrison to adopt a climate change target of at least a 35 per cent cut in emissions by 2030.

"We've [NSW] obviously got a very ambitious medium term target ... my message to those in Canberra is at the very least they should take the average target of all the states and territories and set that as their interim plan," Mr Kean told Sky News Australia.
