Albanese needs to ‘take strong action’ against Victorian Labor Party corruption

Education Minister Alan Tudge says Anthony Albanese needs to show leadership and take firm action against the corruption occurring within the Victorian Labor Party. 

"What we heard yesterday was the most extraordinary evidence that I have ever heard in my time as federal member of parliament,” Mr Tudge told Sky News Australia. 

"And it showed that there was systematic abuse of Commonwealth funds for the purposes of factional activity."

He said he finds it hard to believe Mr Albanese was not aware of this.

"And so the question for him is, when did he become aware, what did he do about it, and what will he do about the people who have been involved in such abuse of Commonwealth resources?

“He needs to show leadership here, stamp out that corruption and take strong action, because it is rotten to the core in the Labor Party here in Victoria, at both the federal and the state level.”
