Darwin Bureau Chief Matt Cunningham says net zero emissions by 2050 is the “issue of our times” as Prime Minister Scott Morrison works to reach a deal with the Nationals ahead of the COP26 climate conference. The Australian is reporting Energy Minister Angus Taylor will seek to reassure Nationals MPs the prime minister’s plan for net zero by 2050 - which will be presented to cabinet on Wednesday - won’t come at the expense of reliable power. “It’s going to be a very interesting cabinet meeting tomorrow, that’s for sure,” he said.
