NSW Parliament returns after Sydney’s marathon lockdown

New South Wales Premier Dominic Perrottet and Opposition leader Chris Minns have taken to the floor for the first time since assuming their respective positions, as parliament returned for the first time since Greater Sydney’s marathon lockdown. “I just wanted to wish the premier the best of luck, it’s a huge honour to be elected the 46th premier of NSW and on a personal level, at least, I wish you good luck,” Mr Minns said. In response, Mr Perrottet thanked his rival for the well wishes. “I thank the leader of the Opposition for his question and his well wishes,” he said in reply. “Whilst that might be on a personal level, we’ll certainly be there debating things on a political level and we’ve reached out to each other and said where there are areas which we can find common ground on, we will.”
