‘We need to be a little more careful’ on unskilled migration

The Spectator Australia columnist Caroline Di Russo says Australia needs to be “a little more careful” when it comes to unskilled migration which is “much harder" to sell to the community than skilled migration. The Sydney Morning Herald is reporting the Morrison government is considering a rethink of the nation’s migration program in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. “When … you think about the pressure on infrastructure that’s when people start to get a little bit iffy about it,” she said. “Skilled migration yes, unskilled migration I think we need to be a little more careful on.”
