Labor are the ‘only people’ who have approved gas exploration in the Central Coast

Minister for Resources Keith Pitt says the “only people” who have approved gas exploration in the Central Coast are the Labor Party.

Mr Pitt discussed PEP11 - Petroleum Exploration Permit number 11, which covers Commonwealth waters between NSW and Wollongong, and has been in place since 1999.

“This is not an application for a rig; it’s not an application for an exploration well; it’s not an application to go drilling holes looking for oil and gas,” Mr Pitt said.

“Because the only people so far that have approved that, in this area, are those opposite when they were last in government.

“Now you’re here saying what you did then is wrong now.”
